What a great vision. 14 districts working together to meet the needs of students, yet each in a way that meets their own districts uniqueness! It was an awesome experience for me. We also had representation from preschool, elementary and middle/high school…recognizing the concept that RtI is a continuum of supports.

The SLV RTI PLC meeting was such a wonderful use of intelligence and talents. It is always so nice to get together with professionals who are experts in the area of pedagogy, putting students’ needs first!! The kids are our future!

Hope to see you all November 13th. I really appreciate the fact of having conversations about our problem solving teams. Without these teams RTI can never grow and be sustained. Thanks Nita

Thank you all for coming to the Nov. 14th meeting. It was great. Extra thanks to Bill Metz, Evans, and Sierra Grande for being willing to showcase what they are doing so well. The assessment stages of the problem-solving process improves educator’s knowledge of the student. Use of a problem-solving method to make decisions within a mulititier model is a core principle of RTI. Research has shown that he use of s problem-solvong team to discover interventions is an effective tool to help students preform. What great ideas and conversations we were able to bring to the table. Thanks to you all!!!!!

Just a friendly reminder that the next meeting scheduled on January 8th has been moved to January 15th so that we can collaborate with Gifted and Talented group. Thanks

I have created a table of people who have given me their names as resources along with their experise areas for supporting BOCES member districts as they develop their RTI program. To find the table on the BOCES webpage click Departments and then Click RTI and scroll down.

If you have an area where you have expertise that might be useful to others, please let me know and I will add you to the table.

I ran across this great resource for parents on RTI. It is from The National Research Center on Learning Disabilities. It is titled “The ABCs of RTI, Elementary School Reading, A Guide for Parents.” The link is below. I hope this may become helpful for your teams. Thanks
