Compass Learning

Compass Learning is a leader in innovative educational solutions. Twelve of the fourteen San Luis Valley school districts are coming together to pilot Compass Learning. Compass Learning provides an award wining, research-based curriculum and assessment software that assesses each student’s needs and places them in an individualized program of lessons to address their skill area needs. Math skills are one of the focus areas for the software. By providing a research-based software program that is individualized the districts will have an opportunity to serve their students with quality Tier II intervention in math.

This page was set up to allow the districts to collaborate around the use of Compass Learning and to help each other problem solve through the new challenges faced in implementing new technology and programs.

Welcome to the Compass Learning Blog. I hope that we can support and energize each other with information about this pilot project.

I look forward to your comments and encourage you to actively participate on our BLOG.

Welcome Principals!

I’d like to say thanks to Joy for setting up the blog. Your support is priceless.

This will provide a mechanism for teachers who are participating in the pilot project to share with one another. It can also be a place for principals to interact with teachers and administrators from other districts!

Hello everyone! Thanks again for the opportunity to visit about our pilot project. I felt it to be beneficial and well worth the time. I particularly enjoyed listening to how others have implemented and currently using the compass software. I think the blog is a great resource for all of us.

Thanks

Thank you to Joy for setting this up and thank you Chris for the positive comments. This is indeed set up to support you all, the princpals and teachers using the Compass Learning program. I hope this will become a place of sharing – best practices, lessons learned, etc. so that everyone can learn from eachother.

This is a pilot project and we are very interested in learning everything we can about this program, from those of you in the districts. I look forward to learning from you all in the coming months!

Compass learning? Even if it is a tier II intervention, can it be used in a classroom of students with special needs?

William good observation. If you all are tapping into this resource please keep us posted on how you feel this is helping the students. In all or classrooms there are so many different talents, strengths and needs within the students. I have no doubt this program can benefit various levels of students.

OK, how do you get started? Is North Conejos district one of the 14?
